Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara said\nIndonesia\u2019s future development cannot depend solely on established\ngovernment or economic centers, but also involve new growth centers\nthroughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe future of Indonesia will not be built only from Jakarta, but\nalso it will be built from thousands of new growth centers spread across\nthe country,\u201d Suryanagara remarked in a statement on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Transmigration programme has now been successfully expanded\ntransmigration areas into 1,567 definitive villages, 466 sub-district\ncapitals, 116 district capitals, and three provincial capitals.<\/p>\n<p>However, he highlighted the challenges posed by inequalities in\nopportunities for promoting regional development and realising the\nregion\u2019s potential, including that of the local workforce.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe greatest inequality we face today is not income inequality, but\nopportunity inequality,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia invites investors for tourism school in\nLabuan Bajo<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, Patriot Transmigration programme is designed to expand the\ndistribution of talent, knowledge, technology, and access to progress in\ndeveloping regional potential and local human resources.<\/p>\n<p>Suryanagara then invited universities to actively participate in the\nprogramme, one way being by becoming a member of the Patriot Expedition\nTeam (TEP), allowing their expertise to be applied beyond campuses in\ncreating prosperity for communities.<\/p>\n<p>He then addressed current paradigm of transmigration must shift from\npopulation relocation to transfer of knowledge, technology, and\ntalent.<\/p>\n<p>He also underlined the importance of collaboration between\nuniversities, which generate knowledge, innovation, and talent, and the\nTransmigration Ministry, which provides a platform to apply research,\nimplement innovations, and enable young talents to deliver tangible\nbenefits to society.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to bring knowledge, bring campuses closer to the community,\nand make transmigration areas living laboratories for Indonesian\ndevelopment,\u201d Suryanagara said.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesian minister urges responsible mining in\ntransmigration areas<\/p>\n<p>Translator: Uyu Septiyati, Resinta Sulistiyandari<\/p>",
