Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Industry Minister MS Hidayat has offered Japanese companies cooperation to develop infrastructure facilities in the country`s six economic corridors.<\/p>\n
The minister offered the cooperation during a meeting with Japanese businessmen grouped in the Japanese chamber of commerce (Keidanren) at his office on Monday, the ministry said in a press statement on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\"We plan to develop infrastructures along Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang and Bekasi), ranging from Cikarang, Karawang to Banten so that we will have complete infrastructures,\" he said.<\/p>\n
He said the ministry would discuss cooperation priorities with Keidanren to develop the infrastructures.<\/p>\n
\"We also promoted industrial clusters that need Japanese investment in the energy field,\" he said.<\/p>\n
At a meeting with the Keidanren delegation, Vice President Boediono himself expressed hope that the Japanese companies would get involved in three key investment projects, including a power plant with a capacity of 2 x 1000 megawatts in Central Java, the minister said.<\/p>\n
The construction of the power plant using super critical technology would cost an estimated US$3 billion, he said.<\/p>\n
The other projects were Cengkareng-Manggarai railway tracks and clean water project in East Java, he said.<\/p>\n
The construction of the railway tracks was expected to be started this year, he said.
