        "content": "<p>\u201cThe business sector needs to become a strategic partner in\nstrengthening supply chains, distribution, processing, and increasing\nthe added value of the food sector from upstream to downstream,\u201d Hasan\nsaid in a statement received here on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The minister made the remarks while attending the 35th National\nWorking and Consultation Meeting of the Indonesian Employers Association\n(Apindo) in Makassar on Tuesday (Aug 4).<\/p>\n<p>According to him, close collaboration between the government and the\nbusiness community is essential to ensure that national strategic\nprograms not only function as public policies but also create investment\nopportunities, generate employment, and increase the added value of the\nfood sector.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted several priority programs that offer opportunities for\nprivate-sector participation, namely the Red and White Village\nCooperatives (KDMP), the Integrated Modern Fishermen Village Zones\n(KNMP), and Waste-to-Energy Power Plant (PSEL) development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe KDMP program is designed to serve as a village economic hub\nconnecting farmers, cooperatives, local businesses, and broader\nmarkets,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>More than 30,000 village cooperatives have been established across\nIndonesia and are expected to become centers for food distribution,\nagricultural produce procurement, and local economic development.<\/p>\n<p>In the maritime sector, the government is also developing Integrated\nModern Fishermen Village Areas (KNMP) in several coastal regions using\nan integrated upstream-to-downstream approach.<\/p>\n<p>Hasan said the initiative offers investment opportunities in cold\nstorage facilities, logistics, seafood processing, and fisheries product\nmarketing to enable fishers to obtain greater added value and stronger\nbargaining power.<\/p>\n<p>The government is targeting the development of 1,386 KNMP sites in\n2026 as part of its national priority programs.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Hasan noted that the government is accelerating 33\nWaste-to-Energy (PSEL) projects to improve waste management and generate\nsustainable energy, targeting a reduction in daily waste accumulation of\nup to 33,000 tons by 2029.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia breaks ground on 40 MW waste-to-energy power\nplant<\/p>\n<p>Translator: Aria, Kenzu<\/p>",
