        "content": "<p>Govt clears Harmoko of wrongdoing<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The Attorney General's Office cleared Minister<br>\nof Information Harmoko yesterday of any intentional wrongdoing in<br>\nmispronouncing the Koran.<\/p>\n<p>Basrief Arief, chief spokesman of the Attorney General Office,<br>\ntold reporters that a team led by head of the Intelligence<br>\nOperation Division Gatot Hendrarto has worked since Aug. 24 to<br>\nlook into the matter.<\/p>\n<p>\"We concluded that Harmoko did not intentionally mispronounce<br>\nthe Al Fatihah verse,\" Basrief said in his office.<\/p>\n<p>Harmoko has already apologized for the slip of the tongue and<br>\nhas met with senior Moslem leaders to explain the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Ulemas representing 17 Moslem organizations said last week<br>\nthat they accepted his explanation.<\/p>\n<p>Basrief said that in the absence of any evidence of bad<br>\nintention on Harmoko's part, the Attorney General's Office did<br>\nnot find any grounds to begin a formal investigation, or to<br>\nprosecute the minister.<\/p>\n<p>Harmoko made the slip of the tongue when he opened a wayang<br>\n(puppet) festival in Surakarta on July 15.
