        "content": "<p>Governor told to quit companies<\/p>\n<p>MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: A faction at the West Nusa<br>\nTenggara legislature asked on Tuesday that Governor Harun Al<br>\nRasyid relinquish his post as chief commissioner in four<br>\nprovincial administration-owned companies.<\/p>\n<p>Al Islami faction spokesman L. Mustakim told a plenary session<br>\nat the legislature, attended by Harun, that the governor was<br>\nviolating Law No. 22\/1999 on regional autonomy and Article 4 on<br>\nlocal government, which both ban governors from any involvement<br>\nin local government businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Mustakim said Harun had been repeatedly reminded of the law<br>\nand asked to comply with the legislation, but had not yet<br>\nresponded.<\/p>\n<p>\"The governor maintains his posts in four companies and who<br>\nknows how many other positions he holds in other firms,\" Mustakin<br>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The plenary session was held to hear the factions' responses<br>\nto the governor's annual progress report of his administration<br>\nfor 2001.<\/p>\n<p>The faction, which groups several Muslim-based parties, fell<br>\nshort of demanding action be taken against the governor. --<br>\nAntara<\/p>",
