Governor opens PKK contest<\/p>\n
Governor Surjadi Soedirdja yesterday opened the final of a
\ncity wide contest on child healthcare organized by the Family
\nWelfare Movement (PKK).<\/p>\n
The competition, held in conjunction with the 49th anniversary
\nof Indonesian Independence and the 467th birthday of Jakarta, was
\naimed at raising awareness about breast feeding and child
\nhealthcare.<\/p>\n
PKK has been actively involved in numerous education and
\nhealth programs aimed at educating parents, especially low-income
\nand uneducated residents in rural and urban areas.<\/p>\n
Yesterday's competition was participated by winners of a
\nsimilar competition held at the mayoralty level.<\/p>\n
The competition featured six contests, including a simulation
\ngame on bringing up children, preparing food for school children,
\na speech contest on measures to reduce infant and childbirth
\nmortality rates, a speech contest on how to nurture toddlers and
