        "content": "<p>Governor gets the thumbs down<\/p>\n<p>SEMARANG, Central Java: In response to the outcry against the<br>\nrenomination of incumbent Governor Soewardi, the provincial<br>\nlegislature as decided not to place him on the list of nominees<br>\nfor the upcoming gubernatorial election.<\/p>\n<p>\"The decision by the four factions was taken because almost<br>\nall levels of society have expressed their refusal to see<br>\nSoewardi run for a second term,\" said Toyfoer, chairman of the<br>\nUnited Development Party (PPP) faction here.<\/p>\n<p>\"We, of course, are following the aspirations of a majority of<br>\nthe people who reject Soewardi,\" he added.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that none of the four factions at the provincial<br>\nlegislature -- Golkar, the United Development Party, PPP and the<br>\nArmed Forces -- had nominated Soewardi and thus he would not be<br>\ncalled up in the upcoming selection process with the other five<br>\ncandidates.<\/p>\n<p>It was Soewardi who introduced the \"yellowization\" campaign<br>\nprior to last year's general election.
