Surabaya (ANTARA) - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa is\nencouraging the 2026 East Java Student Talent Achievement event to\nstrengthen a performance-based education ecosystem while preparing\nsuperior, competitive generations for national and international levels\nthrough directed and sustainable coaching.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope the East Java talent event can produce extraordinary talented\nindividuals, not only at the provincial level, but also succeeding\nnationally and advancing internationally,\u201d Khofifah said in a statement\nin Surabaya on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The 2026 East Java Student Talent Achievement event, which began on\nSaturday (4\/4), involves thousands of the best students from all\nregencies\/cities as part of the East Java Provincial Government\u2019s\nstrategy to identify and develop student potential.<\/p>\n
Previously, East Java has won championships in various national\ncompetitions, such as the National Science Olympiad (OSN), National\nStudent Sports Olympiad (O2SN), National Student Arts and Literature\nFestival and Competition (FLS3N), Student Competency Competition (LKS),\nIndonesian Student Research Olympiad (OPSI), Indonesian Student\nInnovation and Entrepreneurship Festival (FIKSI), and Indonesian Debate\nCompetition (LDI).<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough this event, we want to ensure that every top talent from\nEast Java has the space to develop and achieve. Because this is how we\nbuild the golden generation that will take East Java and Indonesia\nfurther forward,\u201d the Governor said.<\/p>\n
She added that the talent event also serves as a form of appreciation\nfor high-achieving students that can be utilised to enter state\nuniversities (PTN) through the National Selection Based on Achievement\n(SNBP).<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause they receive appreciation, and even with the talents they\npossess to achieve success, it can be used to enter PTN via the SNBP\nachievement pathway, that\u2019s why East Java always has the highest\nnationally entering PTN via the SNBP pathway, due to the government\u2019s\nconcern for the talents of the great students from East Java,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Based on SNBP 2026 data, 29,046 students from East Java were accepted\ninto PTN out of 108,122 registrants, making the province the highest\nnationally for seven consecutive years from 2019 to 2026.<\/p>\n
In addition, East Java is also the province with the highest number\nof Indonesia Smart College Card (KIP-K) recipients, with 8,915 students\naccepted out of 40,213 registrants.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is good news for children from underprivileged families.\nBecause this reduces the gap in access to higher education. We want to\nensure that no child in East Java drops out of school due to economic\nreasons.
