        "content": "<p>Governor charged with corruption<\/p>\n<p>BANDUNG, West Java (JP): Around 100 members of the West Java<br>\nbranch of the Islamic Youth Movement (GPI) staged a protest here<br>\nMonday, demanding investigation into the alleged embezzlement of<br>\nbillions of rupiah by Governor R. Nuriana. The peaceful rally on<br>\nthe grounds of the council was followed by a meeting with<br>\ncouncilors.<\/p>\n<p>Among other charges, the governor was accused of being<br>\nresponsible for the overestimated costs of councilors' homes.<\/p>\n<p>GPI spokesman Zaky Robby Cahyadi said demonstrations would<br>\ncontinue if the Governor failed to quit by May. Councilors said<br>\nthe demands would be conveyed to the Ministry of Home Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Also on Monday several artists, including Tisna Sanjaya, took<br>\nto the streets and the council grounds.
