Samarinda (ANTARA) - The Governor of East Kalimantan, Rudy Mas\u2019ud,\nhas affirmed that the provincial government will not dismiss Pegawai\nPemerintah dengan Perjanjian Kerja (PPPK), or contract government\nemployees, despite currently facing significant fiscal pressures.<\/p>\n
\u201cGod willing, to all PPPKs in East Kalimantan, do not doubt it, we\nwill protect you. There will be no dismissal of PPPKs,\u201d said Rudy Mas\u2019ud\nwhile giving a statement in Samarinda on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The information regarding workforce reductions emerged after several\nregions in Indonesia threatened to lay off PPPKs. This was triggered by\nfinancial difficulties faced by local governments and the existence of\nstrict regulations limiting employee expenditure to a maximum of 30\npercent of the Regional Budget (APBD).<\/p>\n
According to him, PPPKs together with Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS), or\ncivil servants, are important pillars that make significant\ncontributions to the government and public services.<\/p>\n
The commitment to maintain PPPK employees is not the first time it\nhas been conveyed by the Governor. At the East Kalimantan Development\nPlanning Forum (Musrenbang) held at the Lamin Etam Pavilion a few weeks\nago, Rudy directly invited all regents and mayors in East Kalimantan to\nbe united.<\/p>\n
He asked regional heads not to use financial reasons as a basis for\ndismissing PPPKs.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlease pray and do not doubt that we will maintain PPPKs,\u201d added\nRudy.<\/p>\n
The Governor also reminded all PPPKs to uphold integrity, comply with\nthe code of ethics for State Civil Apparatus (ASN), and focus on\nproviding their best performance.<\/p>\n
He asked employees to avoid criminal acts that could damage the image\nof the institution. \u201cContinue to work well and adhere to the ASN code of\nethics. Do not get involved in gambling, drugs, corruption, or other\ndisgraceful acts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
For information, the termination of employment for PPPKs is strictly\nregulated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 49 of 2018 concerning the\nManagement of PPPKs.<\/p>\n
Based on this regulation, work contracts can only be terminated due\nto five factors: the end of the contract period, poor performance\nevaluation results, committing serious disciplinary violations, being\ninvolved in legal problems (criminal acts), and at the request of the\nemployee concerned.<\/p>\n
Currently, PPPKs play a vital role in public services in East\nKalimantan.
