Semarang (ANTARA) - The Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi,\nstated that efforts to reduce stunting cases in the region require\ncollaborative work from various stakeholders. \u201cCentral Java will be at\nthe forefront of fighting stunting. All regional heads in Central Java\nare required to reduce stunting,\u201d he said in Semarang on Monday, during\nan audience with a delegation from the Vice President\u2019s Secretariat\n(Setwapres) regarding the technical consolidation for accelerating\nstunting reduction.<\/p>\n
The Vice President\u2019s Secretariat plans to hold a technical\nconsolidation for accelerating stunting reduction and advocacy for\nstunting prevention for the Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara (Jabanusa) region in\nSemarang City on 22-23 September 2026.<\/p>\n
Consequently, he welcomed the Vice President\u2019s Secretariat\u2019s plan,\nnoting that efforts to reduce and prevent stunting cannot be undertaken\nin isolation. On this occasion, Governor Ahmad Luthfi expressed hope for\nthe active involvement of various stakeholders, ranging from relevant\nRegional Government Agencies (OPD), the National Population and Family\nPlanning Board (BKKBN), regents, mayors, village governments, to the\nFamily Welfare Movement (PKK).<\/p>\n
According to him, the reduction and prevention of stunting are\nfundamental assets in preparing future generations. \u201cChildren must be\nprepared from an early age, starting from the pre-marital period,\npregnancy, through to the first 1,000 days of life (HPK),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Head of the Central Java Health Office, Zulfachmi Wahab, added\nthat the commitment to reducing stunting is being implemented through\ncross-sector collaboration, including identifying risk factors based on\nlife cycles and providing assistance to pregnant women at risk of\nstunting.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom pregnant women, we can predict the risk of stunting; 85 per\ncent of stunting can be identified during pregnancy, and interventions\ncontinue through the first 1,000 days of life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Deputy for Welfare Improvement and Human Resources\nDevelopment at the Vice President\u2019s Secretariat, Eddy Cahyono Sugiarto,\nexplained that the technical coordination meeting for accelerating\nstunting reduction and prevention advocacy is a follow-up to President\nPrabowo Subianto\u2019s focus on improving the quality of human\nresources.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the pillars of human resource development is the handling of\nstunting. Therefore, we must prepare Indonesia\u2019s Golden Generation. We\nwant to ensure that all stakeholders can work together and collaborate\nto reduce stunting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
