During a national\nsymposium, RJI promoted the Diamond Open Access model, where operational\ncosts are fully borne by universities or academic communities. RJI\nChairman Arbain noted that over 1,206 journals in Indonesia already do\nnot charge authors, and the organisation hopes future government policy\nwill expand this number while boosting the quality of national journals\nto compete internationally.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to these aspirations, the Ministry of Higher Education,\nScience, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) expressed alignment with the\ninitiative. Secretary of the Directorate General of Science and\nTechnology, Samsuri, stated that the government is committed to\nimproving journal quality and integrity throughout the research,\nwriting, peer review, and publishing process.
