JAKARTA - The government, through the Ministry of Housing and
Settlement Areas (PKP), targets the renovation of 400,000 homes for
low-income communities in 2026. This programme represents a significant
increase compared to the previous year, which only reached 45,000 homes.
PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait stated that this surge in targets is part
of the government’s efforts to expand the reach of the home improvement
programme to make it more equitable and on-target across Indonesia.
“Last year’s home renovations were only around 45,000 units, while this
year the target is 400,000 homes. In the future, we are preparing steps
to make the number even larger,” said Maruarar in Jakarta on Tuesday
(7/4/2026). The government will collaborate with the Central Statistics
Agency (BPS) to ensure the accuracy of the beneficiaries. “We will
certainly work with BPS so that there are clear rules. There is a
classification, from decile one to decile four, so that those entitled
to assistance are truly the underprivileged,” he said. “We must not let
those who are capable receive it, while those in need do not,” he
stressed. In addition, the government is ensuring the equitable
distribution of the programme across all regions of Indonesia. If last
year there were still hundreds of areas untouched by the programme, this
year all regencies and cities are targeted to participate. “Last year,
there were still around 220 regencies/cities that did not receive this
programme. This year, all regencies and cities in Indonesia will receive
the home renovation programme from President Prabowo,” he added. “This
year, all regencies and cities in Indonesia are ordered to receive the
home renovation programme from Father President Prabowo. This is a very
significant programme that will stimulate the economy and also bring
blessings,” he asserted.
",
