        "content": "<p>The government has confirmed it has agreed on a plan to increase the\nMaximum Retail Price (HET) for MinyaKita, following ongoing fluctuations\nin the price of crude palm oil (CPO) in recent times. Although the scale\nof the increase has not yet been set, signals of a change in the price\nof the people\u2019s cooking oil are expected to be decided within one to two\nweeks after the government ensures raw material price conditions are\nmore stable. Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the decision was the\nresult of joint discussions during a coordination meeting led by the\nCoordinating Ministry for Food. \u201cFollowing up on the previous meeting in\nthe Coordinating Minister for Food\u2019s Rapor at the Coordinating Ministry\nfor Food office. So today we agreed to raise the maximum retail price\nfor MinyaKita,\u201d Budi Santoso said at the Ministry of Trade office in\nCentral Jakarta on Thursday, 4 June 2026. According to Budi, the\ngovernment has not yet determined the exact figure for the increase\nbecause it is still monitoring the development of CPO prices, which are\nthe main cost component forming cooking oil prices. \u201cIndeed, the price\nhas not yet been agreed upon and when it will be determined for the\nstipulation. Because we want to see the development of CPO prices\nagain,\u201d he said. The government noted that the CPO price had previously\nsurged to an average of Rp15,445 per kilogram before experiencing a\ncorrection. However, the price movement remains volatile, causing the\ngovernment to postpone setting the new MinyaKita HET figure. \u201cIndeed,\nthe CPO price rose yesterday to an average of Rp15,445, but yesterday it\nfell again to around Rp14,000,\u201d said Budi. Besides the CPO price, the\ngovernment is also monitoring the development of fresh fruit bunch\nprices, which are one indicator of the national palm oil industry\u2019s\ncondition. \u201cAnd yesterday the fresh fruit bunch price also fell, but now\nit has started to rise again,\u201d he said. Budi stressed the government\ndoes not want to rush into setting a new price before obtaining a\nclearer picture regarding raw material price trends in the market. \u201cSo\nwe will see the price stabilise, after that we will determine what the\nfigure will be for the increase in the maximum retail price for\nMinyaKita,\u201d he said. Nevertheless, the government\u2019s policy direction is\nclear.
