        "content": "<p>Government to proceed with CGI meeting<\/p>\n<p>The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>The venue for the meeting of the Consultative Group on<br>\nIndonesia (CGI) will not be moved from Jakarta despite threats of<br>\n\"sweeping\" directed against foreigners, a senior government<br>\nofficial said.<\/p>\n<p>Ministry of Finance specialist Anggito Abimanyu said on<br>\nTuesday that the venue for the meeting would remain the same but<br>\nthat the meeting would be held a day later.<\/p>\n<p>\"The meeting will go on, but between Nov. 7 and 8, not Nov. 6<br>\nand 7,\" he said on the sidelines of a hearing with the House of<br>\nRepresentatives' Commission IX for financial and development<br>\nplanning affairs.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting, which had been scheduled for September, was<br>\npostponed because of the unexpected attack on the United States<br>\non Sept. 11.<\/p>\n<p>Rumors had been rife that the CGI meeting would be moved to<br>\nTokyo for fear that recent threats against foreigners by radical<br>\nMuslim groups would lead to it being disrupted.<\/p>\n<p>\"Where did you hear that? That's just gossip. The meeting<br>\nvenue has not been moved,\" Anggito asserted.<\/p>\n<p>The Muslim groups have threatened that they will attack the<br>\nU.S. Embassy here and expel American citizens from the country if<br>\nthe U.S. attacks Afghanistan in retaliation for the Sept. 11<br>\nincident.<\/p>",
