Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman has stated that the\ngovernment is tightening evaluations of all seed providers involved in\nthe plantation seed development programme to ensure quality, quantity,\nand distribution to farmers meet regulations. \u201cThis is a strategic\nprogramme with a budget of almost Rp10 trillion. No one should play\ngames,\u201d Amran said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
He warned that providers failing to meet standards could be removed\nfrom the government\u2019s partner list and face legal action. The government\nhas allocated Rp9.95 trillion for the programme, which targets strategic\nplantation commodities including coconut, coffee, cocoa, sugarcane,\nnutmeg, pepper, and cashew.<\/p>\n
During a coordination meeting for 2026 seed production activities at\nthe Ministry of Agriculture, Amran said oversight of the programme\ninvolves a task force, law enforcement officials, the Corruption\nEradication Commission (KPK), and the Indonesian National Armed Forces\n(TNI) and Police (Polri). \u201cDon\u2019t try to mess with the quality, quantity,\nor procurement process. If there are violations, we will not\ncompromise,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Amran emphasised that there is no room for brokerage practices or\nexternal interventions in the programme\u2019s implementation, and all\ncompanies will be treated equally regardless of their connections to\nofficials. The Directorate of Plantation Seeds, together with seed\nproducers for the targeted commodities, signed an integrity pact as a\ncommitment to maintaining integrity, transparency, and the quality of\nseeds distributed to farmers.
