        "content": "<p>Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul\nMu\u2019ti has stated that the policy scenario for involving school canteens\nin the distribution of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme is\nstill being drafted together with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).\n\u201cSo there is no decision yet regarding how canteens and other services\nwill be involved. For MBG to run well, everything must undergo in-depth\nstudy,\u201d Abdul Mu\u2019ti said in Yogyakarta on Sunday (5\/7). According to\nhim, the ministerial-level meeting has decided that the beneficiaries of\nMBG will not be all students. In the future, MBG will only be given to\nthose who need it. \u201cWhat has been decided in the ministerial-level\nmeeting is that MBG recipients will not be everyone, but only those who\nrequire it,\u201d he said. However, he stated that the implementation\nmechanism for this policy is still being developed to ensure it can run\noptimally. \u201cWe are currently drafting the mechanism so that this policy\ncan be implemented properly,\u201d he added. Abdul Mu\u2019ti explained that the\nMBG distribution policy falls under the authority of BGN. The Ministry\nof Primary and Secondary Education, he clarified, only provides input\nregarding implementation so that the programme\u2019s objectives, as intended\nby President Prabowo Subianto, can be achieved. \u201cThe spirit of MBG,\naccording to the President, is to build a physically healthy generation\nthat is free from stunting,\u201d he said. He assessed that the distribution\nof MBG benefits would be more targeted if prioritised for students who\ngenuinely need it. \u201cSo, indeed, it is more appropriate that those who\nare most entitled to receive it are the ones who are served,\u201d he said.\nOn various occasions, Abdul Mu\u2019ti continued, the ministry has also\nemphasised that MBG is not limited to providing nutritious food but is\nalso part of strengthening character education in schools. The\nprogramme, he added, is one of the seven habits of Great Indonesian\nChildren, namely getting used to eating healthy and nutritious food. \u201cWe\nhave issued various guidelines on how character education is integrated\nwith MBG,\u201d he said. He added that the ministry continues to coordinate\nwith BGN and awaits further policies to be issued regarding the\nprogramme\u2019s implementation. \u201cThe new policy will be prepared by BGN as\nthe institution with the authority to organise MBG,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
