        "content": "<p>The government has stated that there will be no increase in\nelectricity tariffs for the second quarter of 2026 (April\u2013June). This\npolicy is aimed at preserving public purchasing power while supporting\nindustrial competitiveness amid global economic dynamics.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and\nMineral Resources (ESDM), Tri Winarno, stated that the decision followed\nan evaluation of various macroeconomic indicators in accordance with\napplicable regulations. \u201cThe public need not worry, as the government\nhas set the electricity tariffs for the second quarter of 2026 to remain\nthe same,\u201d said Tri, quoted from a written statement on Wednesday, 1\nApril 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The determination of electricity tariffs, particularly for\nnon-subsidised customers, refers to Ministry of ESDM Regulation Number 7\nof 2024. Evaluations are conducted every three months, considering\nseveral parameters such as the rupiah exchange rate, Indonesian Crude\nPrice (ICP), inflation, and Coal Reference Price (HBA).<\/p>\n<p>For the second quarter of 2026, the calculations are based on\nrealisations from November 2025 to January 2026, with assumptions of an\nexchange rate of Rp 16,743.46 per US dollar, ICP of US$62.78 per barrel,\ninflation of 0.22 percent, and HBA of US$70 per tonne.<\/p>\n<p>Although calculations indicate potential for tariff changes, Tri said\nthe government has chosen to retain the electricity tariffs to maintain\nnational economic stability. This policy also applies to subsidised\ncustomers, who will continue to receive unchanged tariffs.<\/p>\n<p>President Director of PT PLN (Persero), Darmawan Prasodjo, expressed\nthe company\u2019s readiness to implement the policy while maintaining\nreliable electricity supply throughout Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the midst of dynamic global geopolitical conditions, we\nappreciate the government\u2019s step to maintain electricity tariff\nstability for the second quarter of 2026.
