The government is simplifying the permit process for foreign workers.\nThese permits will be processed through a single gateway, with a maximum\nresolution time of five days.<\/p>\n
This policy was agreed upon through the signing of two Joint Decrees\n(SKB) by the Minister of Manpower, Yassierli; the Minister of\nImmigration and Correctional Services, Agus Andrianto; and the Minister\nof Investment and Downstreaming\/Head of BKPM, Rosan Perkasa\nRoeslani.<\/p>\n
The two Joint Decrees serve as the legal basis for unifying foreign\nworker permit services across ministries.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe government aims for a maximum completion of five days once the\nOnline Single Submission (OSS) service is integrated as the primary\naccess point for foreign worker permits,\u201d said Rosan, as quoted on\nWednesday (9\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n
Under this connected scheme, business actors will eventually be able\nto submit all stages through a single system without needing to switch\nbetween various ministerial platforms. The implementation of this\nintegration is scheduled to begin in late September 2026.<\/p>\n
According to Rosan, the simplification of permit procedures provides\ntime certainty for investors.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis [foreign worker permit] will take approximately four to five\ndays, which is in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) 28. I am\nconfident it will be completed within five days; once that is done, the\npermit will automatically be issued. Therefore, this will provide\ncertainty that five days means five days,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n
Through cross-ministerial cooperation, the government is integrating\nthree service systems that have previously been used in the foreign\nworker permit process.<\/p>\n
The OSS, under the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming\/BKPM,\nwill be linked with the Manpower Service Information and Application\nSystem (SIAPkerja) owned by the Ministry of Manpower.<\/p>\n
Both will also be integrated with the All Indonesia Application under\nthe Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services.<\/p>\n
To ensure implementation, the government has formed an Integration\nTechnical Team tasked with overseeing the unification of the\nsystems.<\/p>\n
Rosan explained that accelerating foreign worker permits provides\ncertainty to investors who require foreign expertise to support business\noperations in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
The need for foreign workers, the Head of BKPM stated, still exists\nin several industrial sectors and is expected to simultaneously\nencourage the transfer of knowledge and technology to Indonesian human\nresources.<\/p>\n
With a shorter and more interconnected workflow, the government hopes\nthe investment climate will become increasingly attractive to foreign\ninvestors who require business certainty in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, stated that the\nintegration of OSS services is a form of collaboration between three\nministries to improve public services while supporting national\ninvestment growth.<\/p>\n
In addition to simplifying the process for business actors, the\nunification of data will benefit the government in monitoring ongoing\ninvestments.<\/p>\n
