        "content": "<p>The Government of the Republic of Indonesia, through the National\nDisaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), is providing an integrated\nregistration service for volunteers who wish to participate in handling\nthe impact of the earthquake in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).<\/p>\n<p>Acting Head of the BNPB Data, Information and Disaster Communication\nCentre, Berton SP Panjaitan, said in a press conference in Jakarta on\nFriday that registration can be done online to facilitate coordination\nand mobilisation of volunteers in the field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVolunteers who will take part in disaster management in NTT can\nregister through the Volunteer Desk (at\nkatalogketangguhan.bnpb.go.id\/desk-relawan),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Berton added that BNPB has prepared an integrated digital dashboard\nto monitor updates on handling data, aid distribution, and the latest\npost-disaster situation developments.<\/p>\n<p>As of Friday (21\/8) at 16.00 WIB, BNPB recorded the death toll had\nincreased by eight people to a total of 83. The additional fatalities\nwere caused by indirect impacts of the disaster, comprising two in\nManggarai Regency, two in East Manggarai, three in Nagekeo, and one in\nNgada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeanwhile, the number of injured has increased to 986 people and the\nnumber of displaced residents has surged significantly to 110,785\npeople,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Damage to residential facilities has reached 44,946 housing units,\nwith details of 17,176 heavily damaged units, 9,758 moderately damaged\nunits, and 18,013 lightly damaged units.<\/p>\n<p>The distribution of heavily damaged homes is concentrated in the\nthree most affected regencies, namely East Manggarai Regency with 5,962\nunits, Manggarai Regency with 3,146 units, and West Manggarai Regency\nwith 3,050 units.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all this, according to Berton, BNPB leadership has ensured\nthat posts in each affected area will update housing damage data\nregularly every day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cData collection is carried out based on name and address for\ndetermining the recovery assistance scheme,\u201d said Berton, while urging\nthe public to remain wise in filtering information about post-disaster\nconditions circulating on social media.<\/p>",
