The assistance will be given in a\nnon-cash form.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto\nemphasised that the aid will be focused on community groups in decile 4\nand below.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe stimulus we are preparing is for the lower-middle class, decile\n4 and below. This is currently being prepared,\u201d he said when met by\nreporters at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, as quoted on Thursday\n(18\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Airlangga confirmed that the assistance will not be given in the form\nof cash like Direct Cash Assistance (BLT). According to Airlangga, BLT\nis only given to the poorest communities. The decile 4 group is a\ncommunity group that is nearly or almost poor.<\/p>\n<p>People who fall into the Decile 4 category (Vulnerable Poor group)\nhave an income or expenditure range of around Rp1.8 million to Rp2.5\nmillion per month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBLT is not for the middle, but for those at the bottom,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Airlangga explained that the government is also preparing\nstimulus assistance for the middle class due to the increase in the\nprice of Pertamax fuel. The government will provide assistance through\nanother scheme, namely an internship programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen we are also preparing for the lower-middle class, decile 4 and\nbelow. This is currently being implemented,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the middle class, one of the internship programmes that we are\npushing again in June,\u201d Airlangga stressed.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, the government also rolled out the Temporary Direct Cash\nAssistance for People\u2019s Welfare (BLTS Kesra) programme initiated by\nPresident Prabowo Subianto. At that time, BLTS targeted 35 million\nbeneficiary families (KPM). The BLTS was designed as a consumption boost\nspecifically for the fourth quarter of 2025.
