The Agriculture Ministry, led by Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman, has ensured that Indonesia's crude palm oil (CPO) production is sufficient to meet domestic demand during Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, including the anticipated spike in cooking oil consumption during the religious holiday. The government is monitoring upstream stock levels, maintaining its biodiesel mandate (B40/B50), and promoting the smallholder palm rejuvenation programme to sustain productivity and stabilise palm oil supply. Inter-ministerial coordination with the Trade Ministry and food task force has been strengthened to prevent distribution bottlenecks from factories to packaging facilities.

Jakarta — The Agriculture Ministry (Kementan) in coordination with
relevant stakeholders has prepared crude palm oil (CPO) production to
meet demand for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman confirmed that national CPO
production is sufficient to meet domestic requirements, including ahead
of the surge in demand during the major religious celebration. “This
includes addressing the spike in demand in the lead-up to this important
religious occasion,” Amran stated in an official statement on Monday (2
March 2026).

The government regularly monitors upstream stock levels, including
checking storage tank capacity and raw material distribution. The
Agriculture Ministry also emphasised that palm oil remains crucial to
stabilising the national cooking oil supply and supporting the 40 per
cent Mandatory Biodiesel policy (B40/B50).

“At the same time, our commitment to the biodiesel programme
continues to proceed in a measured and controlled manner,” Amran
said.

The government continues to implement the Smallholder Palm
Rejuvenation Programme (PSR) to ensure that smallholder plantations
remain productive. “The key to stability lies in productivity. Through
the PSR and technical assistance, we are driving increases in harvest
yield per hectare to meet the growth in industrial demand and domestic
consumption,” Amran explained.

Director-General of Plantation Abdul Roni Angkat noted that cooking
oil demand typically increases by 10 to 15 per cent year-on-year during
Ramadhan and Eid. “Cross-ministerial coordination, including with the
Trade Ministry and the food task force, continues to be strengthened to
prevent potential distribution disruptions from factories through to the
packaging stage,” Roni said.
",
