The Indonesian government is optimistic that this year's Eid homecoming will significantly boost national economic activities, with every traveller's spending creating a multiplier effect for MSMEs, traders, and transportation sectors. A 2023 BPS study highlighted that such activities contributed 1.5 percent to annual economic growth, while household consumption rises by 15-20 percent during Eid, potentially increasing regional MSME incomes by 50-70 percent. Supported by fiscal stimuli exceeding Rp12.8 trillion, social assistance of Rp11.92 trillion, and transport discounts, the event is projected to see higher mobility than last year's 154.62 million people, aiding the 5.5-5.6 percent growth target through inclusive and sustainable economic circulation.",

Public movement and spending in 2026 are expected to
increase to support the annual economic growth target of 5.5-5.6 percent
(yoy).

This optimism is supported by various stimulus policies, including
fiscal stimulus allocation of more than Rp12.8 trillion, the
distribution of social assistance amounting to Rp11.92 trillion to 5.04
million households, and transportation fare discounts worth Rp911.16
billion.

Related news: Indonesia Eid travel surge: 4.41M passengers across 37
airports

Related news: Minister ensures stable food supply during Eid holiday
season

Related news: Eid momentum drives Indonesia’s halal assurance push:
BPJPH

Translator: Bayu, Kenzu
",
