        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant\nWorkers (KP2MI) will open registration for the SMK Go Global programme\non 12 August to provide young Indonesian talents with specific skills\nthe opportunity to work abroad. The programme is targeted to improve\nskills and facilitate the placement of 40,000 Indonesian workers in\n2026. \u201cRegistration will open on 12 August and information has been\npublished by all our BP3MI offices in 23 provinces,\u201d said Minister of\nProtection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Mukhtarudin during a press\nconference in Jakarta on Wednesday. He stated that the programme will\nprepare skilled workers for various priority sectors, such as\ncaregivers, nurses, manufacturing, construction, welding, hospitality,\ntransportation, and agriculture. Programme participants will be directed\nto fill job opportunities in Japan, Germany, South Korea, Malaysia,\nSingapore, Taiwan, Turkey, Poland, the Maldives, and other European\ncountries according to market demand. Mukhtarudin stated that the\ngovernment has ensured the availability of labour markets in these\ncountries, so participants can be trained according to the specific\nskills required in each destination. Given that the year has entered the\nsecond half, the SMK Go Global programme for 2026 will focus on\nupskilling participants through language training, technical training,\nand certification. Mukhtarudin explained that participants must already\npossess at least one specific skill needed in the destination country to\njoin the programme. For example, if a participant already has welding\nskills, the government will provide language training and facilitate\ncertification. Similarly, if someone already has adequate language\nproficiency according to the destination country\u2019s requirements, they\nwill receive technical training and certification. \u201cBecause this is a\nquick win programme, we are starting with upskilling. So, not from\nscratch,\u201d said Mukhtarudin. Meanwhile, the implementation of the SMK Go\nGlobal programme in 2027 and subsequent years is expected to be open to\nparticipants who do not yet have any skills, due to the longer programme\nduration. The programme next year is expected to start in January, with\nthe entire process projected to last six to seven months. \u201cBecause the\ntime is longer, the programme can last 6 to 7 months. So, language\ntraining might be 3 months, technical skill training 1 to 2 months, and\ncertification maybe 1 to 2 days,\u201d he added.<\/p>",
