Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian\nYuliarto stated that Indonesia and India have great potential to build\nstrategic collaboration, particularly in developing superior human\nresources and technological innovation. He assessed that cooperation\nbetween the two countries\u2019 universities needs to be directed beyond just\nacademic and research fields, but also towards creating a startup\necosystem and downstreaming innovation. The Minister also conveyed plans\nto develop cooperation with IIT Madras through various schemes,\nincluding joint degree programmes, lecturer and student exchanges, and\nthe development of centres of excellence at several Indonesian\nuniversities. According to him, the innovation development model applied\nby IIT Madras can serve as an important reference in strengthening the\nresearch and startup ecosystem in Indonesia. His ministry is committed\nto facilitating the international mobility of students, researchers, and\nforeign professors through the establishment of a one-stop service\npoint, which is expected to support the acceleration of international\ncooperation in higher education and research.
