        "content": "<p>The government, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources\n(ESDM), has set electricity tariffs for state-owned PT PLN (Persero) for\nthe third quarter (July-September) of 2026 to remain unchanged. This\npolicy is implemented to maintain national economic stability amidst\nglobal dynamics.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia emphasised\nthat this policy is a form of the government\u2019s commitment to preserving\npublic purchasing power, supporting industrial competitiveness, and\nproviding certainty for business actors. \u201cTo maintain public purchasing\npower and support national economic stability, the government has\ndecided that electricity tariffs for the Third Quarter of 2026 will\nremain or not increase,\u201d Bahlil stated.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources\nRegulation Number 7 of 2024, tariff adjustments for 13 non-subsidised\ncustomer groups are typically made every three months based on changes\nin four macroeconomic parameters. For the third quarter of 2026, the\nparameters recorded were an exchange rate of Rp16,959.32 per US dollar,\nan Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) of US$96.12 per barrel, inflation at\n0.21%, and a reference coal price of US$70 per tonne, in line with the\nDomestic Market Obligation (DMO) policy. Although these parameters\nindicated a potential tariff change, the government opted to hold\ntariffs steady.<\/p>\n<p>Bahlil added that the policy also applies to 24 subsidised customer\ngroups, ensuring no tariff changes for social customers, low-income\nhouseholds, small businesses, small industries, and Micro, Small, and\nMedium Enterprises (MSMEs). \u201cThe government is committed to providing\nreliable, affordable, and equitable electricity. This fixed tariff\npolicy is part of efforts to maintain economic stability while ensuring\nsustainable electricity services,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo expressed appreciation for\nthe government\u2019s decision and confirmed PLN\u2019s readiness to implement the\ntariff policy for the Third Quarter of 2026. \u201cWe appreciate the\nGovernment\u2019s step to maintain electricity tariff stability and are ready\nto execute this policy.
