The Indonesian government is forming a new task force to accelerate access to subsidised housing for low-income households (MBR) by addressing various obstacles, particularly in the financial sector such as the Financial Information Service System (SLIK). OJK Chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi and Housing Minister Maruarar Sirait emphasised that the task force will handle a broad range of housing-related issues, including financing barriers, to ensure structured problem-solving without repeated meetings.

The government will establish a new task force to speed up low-income
households’ (MBR) access to subsidised housing. This task force will
address various housing issues, including obstacles in the financial
services sector such as the Financial Information Service System (SLIK).
OJK Commissioner Chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi, or Kiki, stated that
the formation of the task force represents OJK’s support for the
government’s priority programme in the housing sector. “This is related
to OJK’s support for the Minister’s programme. So, for example, if there
are bottlenecks in the financial services sector, we will collect the
data again,” Kiki said after meeting with Housing and Settlement Areas
Minister (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, or Ara, and five developer associations
at the OJK office in Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026). She explained that
the task force will not only focus on SLIK but will also handle various
obstacles faced by the public in accessing housing financing. Meanwhile,
Ara emphasised that the task force’s scope covers all housing-related
issues, not just SLIK. “No, we will handle all kinds of issues related
to housing,” Ara said. The Gerindra politician added that the task force
will also address various problems related to the financial sector that
hinder public access to subsidised housing. “Anything related to
finance, we will resolve it here,” she said. According to her, the
establishment of the task force aims to ensure that problem handling is
done in a structured manner without needing repeated meetings. “So that
we don’t have to go back and forth, there is a team. This team will
organise meetings, receive aspirations, and discuss solutions,” she
stated. The task force’s working mechanism will focus on technical
discussions and policy formulation before reporting to leadership for
strategic decisions. In addition to forming the task force, OJK has also
revised SLIK policies to only display credit records above Rp1 million
and to accelerate repayment data updates to a maximum of three days
(H+3). This policy is expected to reduce financing access barriers for
MBR, allowing the 3 million housing development programme to proceed
more quickly and on target.
",
