        "content": "<p>The government will recommence trials of the non-stop, touchless toll\nroad payment system known as Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF). Head of the\nToll Road Regulatory Agency, Wilan Oktavian, stated that the\nimplementation of the MLFF payment system had indeed experienced\nstagnation. At the end of last year, the Financial and Development\nSupervisory Agency (BPKP) recommended that the Highway Authority (BPJT)\ncontinue or recommence the MLFF trials. \u201cThis is because there were\npreviously two differing claims, where BPJT or BUJT stated that the\nsystem had not succeeded, while Roatex stated that the system had\nsucceeded,\u201d said Wilan Oktavian during the Minister of Public Works\u2019\nSilaturahmi with the media on Thursday (2\/4) in Jakarta. For this\nreason, he said, they plan to recommence trials conducted end-to-end.\nThe testing will cover the entire process from users downloading the\napp, using the system, to payments being properly received by the Toll\nRoad Business Entity (BUJT). According to him, there are several agreed\nstages for the trial implementation, namely pre-trials to be conducted\nin the near future. At this stage, Roatex, as per the contract, is\nobligated to prepare the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the trials. In\npreparation for the Trial TOR, a functional test was conducted from 3 to\n5 March. The functional test focused more on demonstrating the features\nof the CANTAS app and positive scenarios,\u201d explained Wilan. In the near\nfuture, a second stage functional test will be conducted to complete the\nreadiness of the toll road infrastructure to be used. Once all\npreparations are met, comprehensive pre-trials will be carried out. \u201cFor\nthe implementation timeline target, the principle is the sooner the\nbetter,\u201d Wilan concluded. The MLFF was initiated 10 years ago,\nspecifically during Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orb\u00e1n\u2019s visit to\nIndonesia in 2016. The project is being handled by the Hungarian\ntechnology company Roatex Ltd.\u00a0through its subsidiary, PT Roatex\nIndonesia Toll System (RITS). Funding for the MLFF project comes\nentirely from the Hungarian government, amounting to US$300 million or\napproximately Rp4.65 trillion. MLFF, he added, is a solution to address\nthe increasing congestion at toll gates, which causes economic losses to\nIndonesia of US$300 million every year.
