Acting\nDeputy for Partnership and Media Relations at Bakom, Kurnia Ramadhana,\nstated that under the law, everyone has the right to express their\nopinions, whether supporting or criticising government policy. He\nstressed that the government respects both those who support and those\nwho oppose the priority programme. \u201cRegarding the allegation of\ngovernment orchestration behind the pro-MBG demonstrations, I believe\nthat is untrue. The government\u2019s position is to respect every opinion,\nevery voice from the public, whether for or against,\u201d Kurnia said. He\nemphasised that the government continues to strive to improve the\ngovernance of the MBG Programme. With the new leadership ranks of the\nNational Nutrition Agency (BGN), improvements to the implementation of\nMBG are being carried out across all lines. \u201cIn essence, what the\ngovernment is currently doing is trying to improve itself regarding the\nFree Nutritious Meal Programme. At the same time, improvements are also\nbeing made by the new BGN leadership,\u201d he stated. In recent days, a\nnumber of mass actions have sprung up in several locations expressing\nsupport for the continuation of MBG. These actions were a response to\nstudent and community group demonstrations demanding a total evaluation\nof MBG, along with a number of other demands. Referring to a statement\nby BGN Deputy Head and Spokesperson Agustina Arumsari on Thursday\n(18\/6), the BGN has decided that Service Units for Nutritional\nFulfilment (SPPG) will not receive incentives during the school holiday\nperiod, in line with the temporary suspension of MBG distribution during\nthe school holidays. This measure was taken to support the structuring\nand standardisation of the programme\u2019s governance. She said the policy\nalso impacts budget efficiency. Based on BGN data, the number of\noperational SPPGs has reached 27,820 units. Assuming the suspension of\nincentives at a rate of Rp6 million per day over an 18-day holiday\nperiod, the BGN estimates the efficiency savings on SPPG incentives will\nreach approximately Rp3 trillion.<\/p>",
