The award was presented directly by the Coordinating Minister for\nCommunity Empowerment, Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, in Jakarta on Friday, to\nprovincial governments, regency\/city governments, villages, and business\nentities deemed excellent in implementing employment social security\nprogrammes in their regions. \u201cEmployment social security is a tangible\nmanifestation of the state\u2019s presence in protecting workers from\nsocio-economic risks,\u201d said Muhaimin Iskandar. This annual event, which\nhas been held since 2017, serves as a strategic instrument for the\ngovernment in encouraging cross-sectoral synergy to accelerate the\nrealisation of Universal Coverage for Employment Social Security (UCJ).\n\u201cVulnerable workers face very high socio-economic risks. If they\nexperience work accidents or pass away, their families are at risk of\nfalling into new poverty. Therefore, the employment social security\nprogramme becomes an important safety net to maintain the continuity of\ntheir family life,\u201d said Muhaimin Iskandar. He added that without social\nsecurity protection, the risks of work accidents or death could push\nworkers\u2019 families into poverty. \u201cThe presence of employment social\nsecurity ensures that workers\u2019 families can continue their lives\ndecently,\u201d said Muhaimin Iskandar.
