        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2014 The government and industrial sector have\ncollaborated to support the development of renewable energy and energy\nself-sufficiency in Indonesia through the donation of two solar power\nplants (PLTS) to the people of Sumenep Regency, East Java.<\/p>\n<p>The two PLTS units, equipped with battery energy storage systems\n(BESS), were donated by the Tsingshan Group through the Torang Indonesia\nWeda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe express our gratitude and appreciation to the Torang IWIP\nFoundation, the Sumenep Regency Government, and PT PLN (Persero) for\ntheir collaboration in realizing this pilot project. This initiative\naligns with President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s vision to accelerate the pace\nof national energy transition,\u201d said Rosan Roeslani, Chief Executive\nOfficer of Danantara Indonesia, in a statement in Jakarta on\nTuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The donation, also initiated by the Danantara Indonesia Investment\nManagement Agency, is expected to expand access to reliable and\nsustainable electricity for the community and support the Indonesian\nGovernment\u2019s vision towards energy self-sufficiency.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative was realised through cooperation between the Torang\nIWIP Foundation, the Sumenep Regency Government, and PT PLN (Persero),\nmarked by the signing of an agreement at Wisma Danantara in Jakarta on\nFriday (13 March).<\/p>\n<p>The signing of the cooperation agreement was also witnessed by Rosan\nas a demonstration of support for collaboration among various parties in\nexpanding access to clean energy for the community.<\/p>\n<p>Sumenep Regent Achmad Fauzi Wongsojudo, who was also present at the\nceremony, stated that accelerating electricity access in the Sumenep\nregion is indeed very much needed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis donation is very meaningful as it can drive electrification\nthat will be directly felt by the community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Wahyu Budhi Santoso, Chairman of the Torang IWIP\nFoundation, expressed the Tsingshan Group and the Torang IWIP\nFoundation\u2019s commitment to supporting the Indonesian Government\u2019s vision\nto meet and equalise energy access for the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope that the donation of two PLTS, each with a capacity of 1\nmegawatt peak (MWp), equipped with BESS each with a capacity of 4\nmegawatt hours (MWh), can provide stable electricity supply to the\ncommunity in two villages in Sumenep Regency. This effort is also\nsupported through cooperation with PT PLN (Persero),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The project will be implemented on Gili Labak Island and Pagerungan\nKecil Island in Sumenep Regency and is estimated to provide electricity\nto approximately 2,000 households.<\/p>",
