The Government and the House of Representatives (DPR RI) have agreed\nto bring the Bill concerning the Amendment to Law Number 4 of 2023 on\nthe Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK) to\nLevel II Discussions, or the decision-making stage, during the DPR\nPlenary Session.<\/p>\n
\u201cA common ground has been found, so hopefully, the P2SK Law can be\ncompleted tomorrow,\u201d stated Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa to\njournalists at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The Government has expressed its acceptance of the discussion results\nat the Working Committee level, which serves as the basis for\ndecision-making during Level I Discussions. In alignment with these\nresults, the Government has approved the progression of the P2SK Law\nAmendment Bill to the Level II Discussion stage in the DPR RI Plenary\nSession.<\/p>\n
The Finance Minister noted that the intensive discussions between the\nGovernment and the DPR RI have resulted in a strong mutual understanding\nregarding the various substantive changes required to strengthen the\nnational financial sector. He emphasised that synergy between the\nGovernment and the DPR RI is a vital factor in realising a financial\nsector that is resilient, inclusive, deep, and globally competitive.<\/p>\n
He assessed that the amendments to the P2SK Law represent a strategic\nstep to reinforce the foundations of the national economy amidst\nevolving global dynamics and challenges. \u201cThe synergy between the\nGovernment and the DPR is key to achieving a resilient, inclusive, deep,\nand globally competitive financial sector. This amendment to the P2SK\nLaw is not merely a regulatory change, but a strategic move to build a\nstronger economic foundation for Indonesia,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Through the strengthening of the financial sector\u2019s legal framework,\nthe Government hopes that the P2SK Law amendments will further drive\nsustainable economic growth, strengthen financial system stability,\ndeepen the national financial market, and enhance public welfare.
