        "content": "<p>The Indonesian Government has urged umrah pilgrims to defer their\ndeparture and requested Indonesian citizens (WNI) to postpone travel to\nthe Middle East region.<\/p>\n<p>This follows the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United\nStates-Israel coalition. The advisory was issued following an attack on\nTehran on Saturday, 28 February 2026, local time. According to reports\ndated 1 March 2026, this conflict has closed airspace across the Middle\nEast, including Iran through to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).<\/p>\n<p>Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the\nRepublic of Indonesia, stated that the deferment of umrah departures is\nbeing implemented to ensure the safety of all Indonesian nationals. The\nGovernment has also asked all pilgrims currently in Saudi Arabia, along\nwith their families in Indonesia, to remain calm and not panic.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia, in\ncollaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is continuing to\ncoordinate with Saudi Arabian authorities, airlines, and Umrah Travel\nOrganisers (PPIU) to ensure that pilgrims experiencing delayed returns\nare handled appropriately.<\/p>\n<p>The Government has also urged the public not to be easily swayed by\nunclear information and requested that all parties refer to official\ngovernment sources to avoid misinformation. Regarding the organisation\nof the 1447 H\/2026 M hajj pilgrimage, the Government has confirmed that\nthere is currently no impact on ongoing preparations. All planning and\ncoordination stages remain on schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) has also advised\nIndonesian citizens to defer travel to the Middle East region until the\nsituation becomes more conducive. According to a statement via the <span class=\"citation\" data-cites=\"Kemlu_RI\">@Kemlu_RI<\/span> X account on\nSunday, 1 March 2026, \u201cWe also advise Indonesian citizens planning to\ntravel through or transit in the Middle East region to reconsider their\ntravel plans and defer travel until the situation becomes more\nconducive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In emergency situations, Indonesian citizens can contact the Hotline\nof the Directorate of Protection of Indonesian Citizens at the Ministry\nof Foreign Affairs via the number 0812-9007-0027.<\/p>",
