Jakarta \u2013 The Indonesian government is accelerating road\ninfrastructure improvements on strategically important routes including\nthe Pantura (North Coast) highway and Trans Java toll network to serve\nas primary corridors for the Lebaran holiday exodus.<\/p>\n
The Presidential Communication Office (Bakom) stated in Jakarta on\nSunday that this initiative follows high vehicle mobility, particularly\nin the Java corridor which serves as the main pathway for public\nmovement during peak travel periods.<\/p>\n
On the western Pantura route, the Ministry of Public Works through\nthe National Road Implementation Agency (BBPJN) of DKI\u2013West Java is\nexpediting pothole repairs on national road sections. Repair efforts are\nfocused on ensuring road conditions are ready to withstand the surge in\nvehicle traffic during peak Lebaran exodus.<\/p>\n
Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo stated that pothole treatment is\nthe top priority and is targeted for completion before peak exodus.\nBased on the latest report, the number of recorded potholes has fallen\nsignificantly from approximately 7,000 to 2,500.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were about 7,000 potholes reported, now it has dropped\ndrastically to 2,500. We ensure that before the exodus, almost all will\nbe pothole-free,\u201d stated Dody.<\/p>\n
In the short term, repairs are conducted through patching methods to\nmaintain traffic flow. For the medium term, the Ministry of Public Works\nis preparing overlay resurfacing and upgrading construction to rigid\npavement or concrete at several critical points to optimise road\ndurability.<\/p>\n
Similar attention is being given to the Pemalang\u2013Pekalongan section,\nwhich is an important part of the strategic Pantura corridor. This\nsection is known for high vehicle mobility, particularly logistics\nvehicles and public transport.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Pemalang\u2013Pekalongan section must be ensured in stable and safe\ncondition for the public before Eid. This acceleration is a form of\ngovernment commitment to providing reliable infrastructure services,\nparticularly on high-mobility routes such as Pantura,\u201d said Dody.<\/p>\n
Preservation work on this section includes road structure\nimprovements at several priority segments. By late February 2026,\nphysical progress had reached 78.89 per cent, exceeding the planned\ntarget of 37.66 per cent.<\/p>\n
Beyond national roads, maintenance is also being conducted on the\nmain Trans Java toll route. PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) is\nstrengthening regular maintenance on the Jakarta\u2013Cikampek toll section\nas an anticipatory measure for the Lebaran 2026 exodus and return\njourneys.<\/p>\n
On 26 February 2026, JTT completed patching work at 172 locations on\nLane A towards Cikampek, from KM 07+500 to KM 71+850. Maintenance is\nalso planned at 82 locations on Lane B towards Jakarta, from KM 71+300\nto KM 19+315, including treatment at the Cikarang Timur Off Ramp.<\/p>\n
Beyond patching, road reconstruction is also being conducted at the\nDry Port Off Ramp lane 2 from 27 February to 2 March 2026. This step is\ntaken to ensure pavement structure remains reliable, particularly in\nareas with high traffic loads.<\/p>\n
