GoTo has decided to discontinue the GoRide Hemat subscription scheme for GoJek drivers after a three-month review found the scheme needed a better balance for drivers’ welfare. The firm will align the profit-sharing mechanism with GoRide’s regular service, introducing an 8% per-trip deduction, and is awaiting Perpres 27/2026 to finalise the applicable rules.

GoTo has confirmed it will discontinue the GoRide Hemat subscription
scheme currently imposed on GoJek driver partners. GoTo Chief Executive
Hans Patuwo said the decision will take effect imminently, after the
company evaluated the programme in operation over recent months. The
GoRide Hemat subscription for drivers was initially trialled in limited
form from November 2025 before being expanded nationwide in February
2026. The scheme required partner drivers to pay a subscription fee to
gain access to certain tariff structures or income arrangements that
differed from the regular system. In short, the programme allowed
drivers to pay a subscription and in return receive priority for orders.
‘After three months the team conducted an in-depth review and found that
the subscription scheme needed a better balance for the welfare of
driver partners,’ Hans said at a press conference at GoTo’s Jakarta
office on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. With the termination of the subscription
scheme, the GoRide Hemat profit-sharing mechanism will be aligned with
the GoRide regular service. Going forward, partner drivers will face an
8 percent deduction per trip. The 8 percent deduction follows a
government directive to reduce the profit share for online ride-hailing
drivers from the previous 20 percent. Nevertheless, the change will
affect consumer-level pricing. GoTo said price increases will be limited
and will still take affordability into account. Regarding implementation
timing, GoTo said it would implement the policy as soon as possible, but
the company is still awaiting the publication of Perpres 27/2026 to
confirm the applicable rules.
",
