Gorontalo provincial government is strengthening Samsat (vehicle tax and registration) services in remote areas, particularly Pohuwato Regency, as a strategic initiative to boost local government revenue. The head of the provincial revenue authority reports improved collection trends for vehicle tax (PKB) and motor vehicle acquisition tax (BBNKB) in Pohuwato, driven by enhanced public service delivery, digital payment optimisation, and inter-agency coordination.

Gorontalo — The head of Gorontalo Provincial Revenue Authority,
Danial Ibrahim, stated on Saturday that the provincial government is
strengthening Samsat services, including in the most remote areas such
as Pohuwato Regency.

According to him, the realisation of vehicle tax (PKB) and motor
vehicle acquisition tax (BBNKB) in Pohuwato Regency shows an
increasingly positive trend with promising prospects until the end of
the fiscal year.

Gorontalo Governor Gusnar Ismail continues to remind Samsat P3D UPTD
Pohuwato Regency in the context of improving public services.

Ismail emphasised that Samsat is one of the strategic pillars
supporting the region’s own-source revenue (PAD).

Cross-sectoral coordination is expected to strengthen further and
maintain the momentum of revenue growth in Pohuwato Regency, whilst also
forming part of the broader strategy to strengthen fiscal independence
in Gorontalo Province.

“Public service must continue to be improved. When service is fast,
transparent and accountable, public trust will grow and tax compliance
will increase,” he said.

According to Ibrahim, this achievement is inseparable from the
synergy between the Provincial Government, Regency Government, Police
and Jasa Raharja in strengthening Samsat services.

This includes optimising digital payment systems and accelerating the
registration and legalisation process for new vehicles.

“Alhamdulillah, the realisation of PKB and BBNKB in Pohuwato shows an
increasingly positive trend. This is the result of collaborative work.
When collaboration is strong, the impact on regional revenue is
tangible,” he said.

This increase is not merely a matter of numbers, but an indicator of
improving fiscal awareness among the public.

Optimising PKB and BBNKB provides direct benefits to regencies and
municipalities through a revenue-sharing scheme of 66 per cent.

“This means the higher the tax compliance, the greater the
contribution to regional development, both at provincial and
regency/municipal level. This is a shared interest,” he said.

He assured that the revenue authority will continue to drive
innovation in digital-based services, take a persuasive approach to
taxpayers, and strengthen the oversight system to sustain this positive
trend.
",
