        "content": "<p>Gorontalo Police Chief Inspector General Widodo said on Saturday the\ninvestigators placed police lines around mine shafts suspected of being\nused for illegal mining operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBesides the mine shafts, we also sealed and placed police lines\naround areas used to process mining materials,\u201d Widodo said.<\/p>\n<p>The enforcement operation targeted the 3 Batu Gergaji area in East\nTulabolo Village, East Suwawa Subdistrict, Bone Bolango District,\nGorontalo Province, where authorities suspect illegal gold mining has\nbeen conducted.<\/p>\n<p>The operation was led by Second Police Inspector Imam Ansyari Rambe,\ninvolving nine officers from the special crimes unit, a Brimob tactical\nteam and Bone Bolango police investigators.<\/p>\n<p>Officers took four to five hours to reach the site, which is located\non a hillside with difficult terrain, according to the police.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities suspected mine owners and workers had learned about the\noperation beforehand because no mining activities were underway when\nofficers arrived.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia postpones increase of mining royalties<\/p>\n<p>However, the joint team seized evidence including two sacks of\nextracted rock material, two carbon pipes, three jet hammer drill bits\nand a blue plastic bowl.
