        "content": "<p>Osi Aulia, a 14-year-old teenager, never imagined how her life would\nchange after a fall whilst fleeing a dog bite near her home. Osi was\ndiagnosed with a bone tumour, leading to the amputation of her right\nleg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt first I kept falling and couldn\u2019t get up. It\u2019s been a year now,\u201d\nsaid Osi, describing the period from the fall, makeshift care at home,\nthrough to the amputation, in an interview with berbuatbaik.id on Monday\n(3\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Throughout that period, Osi was unable to continue her schooling in\nYear 8. Now that her medical treatment is complete, Osi wants to return\nto the classroom. Her former classmates have meanwhile moved on to Year\n9, leaving Osi to catch up on the education she has missed.<\/p>\n<p>However, continuing her education is no simple matter for Osi. Coming\nfrom a pre-prosperous family, with a father unable to work due to\nillness and a mother employed as a tea picker, Osi has difficulty\naccessing a prosthetic leg. The medical device is essential to help her\ncarry out daily activities.<\/p>\n<p>Osi herself regularly helps her mother sell fried snacks to help meet\nthe family\u2019s needs. She usually sells them according to the school\ntimetable and holidays, not far from her home in Tenjolaya Village,\nPasirjambu District, Bandung Regency, West Java.<\/p>\n<p>With a prosthetic leg, Osi hopes to return to school and improve her\nfamily\u2019s circumstances, so that her mother, Popon, no longer has to wake\nbefore dawn to travel to the plantation and carry tens of kilograms of\ntea leaves for a meagre income.<\/p>\n<p>According to Heri, a volunteer with berbuatbaik.id, Osi\u2019s education\nmust continue. Education is the key to improving the family\u2019s life and\nensuring they are no longer trapped in pre-prosperity. Formal schooling\nshould be completed through to senior secondary school (SMA) or its\nequivalent.<\/p>\n<p>A prosthetic leg is a vital necessity for people with physical\ndisabilities affecting incomplete limbs. Accessing one is far from easy,\neven though the JKN-KIS health insurance scheme is available to\neveryone. The distance to hospitals, the high cost of transport, and the\nawareness needed to continue therapy until one can move properly all\nstand in the way.<\/p>\n<p>For this reason, social programmes providing prosthetic limbs are\ngreatly needed by patients from pre-prosperous backgrounds.
