        "content": "<p>Golkar officials evade debate<\/p>\n<p>SEMARANG, Central Java: Officials of the Central Java chapter<br>\nof the ruling Golkar political party failed to show up to a<br>\nstudent-sponsored debate on the organization's illicit<br>\nelectioneering.<\/p>\n<p>The students had invited local Golkar leaders to discuss the<br>\nunpopular process of \"yellowization\" -- a government campaign to<br>\nhave the color yellow (Golkar's color) -- in public places.<\/p>\n<p>The policy has met with strong opposition in Central Java,<br>\nparticularly from student groups.<\/p>\n<p>\"I sent a letter to the Golkar chapter, inviting it to take<br>\npart in the debate. They didn't bother to reply,\" said Bustoni<br>\nMangunsong, coordinator of the Central Java chapter of the<br>\nCommunication Forum of Students for Development.<\/p>\n<p>Under Indonesian law, campaigns by political parties may not<br>\ncommence until three weeks prior to election day.
