Golkar Party faction leader Muhammad Sarmuji praised the significant
improvement in the 2026 Hajj services compared to previous years. The
assessment was based on Sarmuji’s direct observations while performing
Hajj as an ordinary pilgrim in 2026 and inspecting several sectors of
Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in the Holy Land. Sarmuji, in a statement
received in Jakarta on Thursday, said that in 2023 he served as a member
of the DPR RI Hajj Supervisory Team (Timwas) and witnessed various
issues in Hajj management, including catering, accommodation, and
transport. Now, having returned to the Holy Land in a different
capacity, he felt encouraging changes. ‘In 2023, I was a member of the
Hajj Supervisory Team and we encountered numerous issues with catering,
accommodation, and transport. This year, as an ordinary pilgrim, I
visited several Indonesian Hajj sectors. Alhamdulillah, there has been a
significant improvement in services,’ he said. In his visit to three
Indonesian Hajj sectors, Sarmuji directly questioned pilgrims about the
services they received. No major complaints were found. Moreover, the
peak rituals in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina proceeded relatively
smoothly. ‘I asked pilgrims in three sectors. On average, there were no
significant issues with this year’s Hajj management. Similarly, the
execution in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina was relatively smooth and
well-controlled,’ he said. The Golkar Party secretary-general noted
positive remarks on the Hajj officials’ performance, which he deemed
more disciplined and professional than in previous years. ‘Hajj
officials were more disciplined this year compared to past years. They
carried out their duties well,’ Sarmuji said. The East Java legislator
sincerely appreciated the government, particularly the Ministry of Hajj
and Umrah, for their efforts in year-on-year improvements. He stated
that the quality improvements experienced directly by pilgrims are
tangible proof of the government’s seriousness in providing the best
services for Indonesia’s guests of Allah. ‘Because I was present not as
an overseer, I could feel what the pilgrims truly experienced, and what
I felt was much better service. This achievement must be honestly
acknowledged—the Ministry of Hajj has worked hard and the results are
evident,’ he added. He hopes the positive momentum continues and
improves in future Hajj services. The Golkar Party faction in the DPR
RI, he said, will continue to support and monitor Hajj management to
ensure Indonesian pilgrims can perform their worship with devotion,
safety, and comfort.
",
