        "content": "<p>Golkar deplores students demo<\/p>\n<p>SEMARANG: Golkar deplored students from a local Islamic<br>\nuniversity on Tuesday for conducting a rowdy demonstration, which<br>\nincluded burning the party's flags.<\/p>\n<p>\"They are free to despise Golkar, but they cannot show it by<br>\nthat kind of demonstration and burning Golkar's flags. It is an<br>\ninsult to us,\" Hartoyo Abdullah, chief of the party's faction in<br>\nthe legislative council, said.<\/p>\n<p>About 150 students from the Walisongo State Academy of Islamic<br>\nStudies (IAIN) participated in a protest on Monday, calling for<br>\nGolkar's dissolution and for a purge of Golkar elements within<br>\nthe provincial administration.<\/p>\n<p>The students said they doubted Golkar's reform credentials<br>\nbecause the party was responsible for the country's current woes.<\/p>\n<p>Hartoyo said the students should not have been so easily<br>\nprovoked.<\/p>\n<p>\"I believe the students were simply following orders from a<br>\npuppet master.
