The Deputy Chairman of the Golkar Party, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, has\nexpressed deep concern regarding the involvement of Muara Enim Regent\nEdison in a Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sting operation\n(OTT). Golkar, which was one of the parties supporting Edison during the\nregional head election, regrets the incident.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are certainly very concerned; for the umpteenth time, a regional\nhead has been entangled in legal issues through a sting operation. Such\nrecurring incidents should compel us to be increasingly serious about\ncreating an anti-corruption ecosystem within the government,\nparticularly in local administrations,\u201d Doli told reporters on Monday\n(8\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
Doli noted that Edison was a civil servant (ASN) before being elected\nas regent. He mentioned that while Edison had never formally declared\nhimself a Golkar cadre, the party regrets the actions demonstrated by\nthe official.<\/p>\n
\u201cMr Edison himself was a civil servant before being elected Regent.\nGolkar was one of the parties that supported Mr Edison during the recent\nregional elections, although as far as I recall, Mr Edison has not yet\nfirmly declared himself a cadre,\u201d said Doli. \u201cHowever, this is not about\nwhich party a person belongs to; regardless of their background, no one\nshould engage in corruption. It is reported that the KPK conducted the sting operation in Muara\nEnim, South Sumatra, resulting in the detention of the Muara Enim\nRegent.<\/p>\n
