        "content": "<p>Golf course in Biak Numfor<\/p>\n<p>JAYAPURA, Irian Jaya: The management of the four-star Hotel<br>\nBiak Beach, PT Bali Tourist Development Council (BTDC), plans to<br>\nbuild an international standard 18-hole golf course on Biak<br>\nisland located in Biak Numfor regency, Antara reported.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The development of the golf course is part of the third stage<br>\ndevelopment plan of the Marauw Tourist Resort,&quot; BTDC president,<br>\nTjok Ngurah Swastika said.<\/p>\n<p>The first and second stages began in 1991 and the developer<br>\nhas invested some US$ 47 million so far.<\/p>\n<p>Marauw Tourist Resort is 45 percent owned by the provincial<br>\nadministration of Irian Jaya with the remainder owned by BTDC (35<br>\npercent), the state-owned Bank Ekspor-Impor and Bank Dagang<br>\nNegara (15 percent), PT Jasaname (two percent) and the people of<br>\nBiak (three percent).<\/p>\n<p>The golf course will cover an area of 30 hectares and will be<br>\nconstructed at a cost of $10 million.
