        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Publicly-listed investment company PT Global Mediacom, formerly PT Bimantara Citra, has acquired 62,693,500 shares of telecommunication firm PT Mobile-8 Telecom, a Global Mediacom director said.<\/p>\n<p>\"The transaction was carried out on September 5-14. Each share was sold at Rp289,\" Hary Tanoesoedibjo told the Capital Market Supervisory Agency (Bapepam)-(Financial Institution) here Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\"The transaction was made for strategic ownership purposes,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Jakarta Stock Exchange said that as of August 31, 2007 Mobile-8 was controlled by PT Global Mediacom (38.52 percent and 18.18 percent) and Qualcom Incorporated (5.01 percent).<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, from August 24-September 4, Global Mediacom bought 138.962 million shares at an average price of Rp283 per share or at Rp39.326 billion altogether.<\/p>\n<p>Between August 3 and 14 and between August 15 and 23, 2007, Global Mediacom bought 157,392,500 shares of Mobile-8 Telecom at Rp290.9 per share and 188,074,000 shares at Rp258 per share.
