        "content": "<p>The Global Islamic Holistic Education Summit (GIHES) 2026 Declaration\nencourages a shift in the global education model towards a holistic\napproach that prioritises the intellectual aspect and uses artificial\nintelligence (AI) ethically in education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmid the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, we\nmust see a person\u2019s character as a whole and must not rely solely on\nAI-based assessments, so that every individual is still required to\nmaintain integrity and the authenticity of their identity,\u201d said the\nRector of UNIDA Gontor and Chairman of the Gontor Centenary\nCommemoration, Prof.\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Hamid Fahmy Zarkasyi, at the GIHES conference\nat the Borobudur Hotel, Central Jakarta, on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>He said that education on human identity must be prioritised and not\nrely solely on technological capabilities. He mentioned that character\neducation is important in order to optimally shape the resilience of\nstudents.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the current education system places too much\nemphasis on the development of science and technology, so it has not\nfully implemented the pillars of education put forward by UNESCO and\neducation experts.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Chairman of the GIHES 2026 Committee, KH Anang Rikza\nMasyhadi, stressed that quality education is not only oriented towards\nthe teaching and learning process, but must also shape students\u2019\nabilities comprehensively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe main theme of this seminar is a high-quality education system.\nThis is not only about educating, but also providing cognitive,\nintellectual and other skills,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, GIHES 2026 Committee Chairman Kiai Hadiyanto Arief said\nthat holistic education also has a role in equipping every student to\nface various world problems that cannot be adequately solved with\nscience and technology alone.<\/p>\n<p>He argued that AI and similar technologies must be positioned as\nsupporting tools for human life. According to him, education must be\nable to answer environmental problems, peace, and increasingly complex\nhumanitarian challenges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to be able to fight this disease, fight against the\ndisease,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the forum was attended by more than 300 participants\nconsisting of leaders and figures who hold strategic positions in\neducation and various other sectors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a summit meeting of leaders who hold strategic positions,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>",
