Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibrability Rakabuming Raka has\nencouraged the establishment of collaboration between the world of\neducation and industry in an effort to support the electric vehicle (EV)\necosystem. The Vice President emphasised this during a visit to the PT\nTangkas Motor Listrik Assembly Factory in Tangerang Regency, Banten, on\nThursday.<\/p>\n
According to statements received in Jakarta, the visit is part of the\ngovernment\u2019s efforts to accelerate the development of the national EV\necosystem by strengthening synergy between education and industry to\nprepare the necessary human resources. This move aligns with the\ndirectives of President Prabowo Subianto, who emphasises the importance\nof developing superior human resources through education that is\nrelevant to industrial needs to support national downstreaming and\nindustrialisation.<\/p>\n
To begin the activity, Gibran inspected the production facilities of\nthe PT Tangkas Motor Listrik Assembly Factory to observe the electric\nvehicle assembly process and its production ecosystem directly. The Vice\nPresident also test-drove one of the electric motorcycles produced by\nthe automotive company as a form of support for the development of the\nnational EV industry.<\/p>\n
Following the inspection, Gibran engaged in a dialogue with\nvocational high school (SMK) students and university students who had\npreviously participated in a workshop regarding the electric vehicle\nproduction ecosystem. Anton, a student from the ATMI Cikarang Industrial\nPolytechnic, asked about the government\u2019s expectations regarding the\ncontributions that students and schools can provide to support the\ndevelopment of the EV industry in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat are your expectations from the industry, and perhaps from the\nstate, regarding what we can do concretely as students and SMK students?\nWhat contribution can we provide to this industry?\u201d Anton asked.<\/p>\n
Responding to the question, the Vice President emphasised that\nindustrial progress must be built through close collaboration between\nindustry players and the educational world so that all stakeholders can\ncontribute to preparing future talent. \u201cI entrust this to the students,\nall the learners, teachers, and lecturers here. Moving forward, we want\neveryone here to be able to participate. Therefore, there must be\ncooperation between the industry, industry players, and schools,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
According to Gibrante, this cooperation can be realised through the\nstrengthening of joint research as well as the alignment of curricula\nwith technological developments and ever-changing industrial needs.\n\u201cWhether it is through research or curriculum adjustments to match\ncurrent trends. Everything is moving towards EV now. Therefore, what is\nstudied in schools must be connected to what exists in the industry,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n
In addition to building synergy with the educational sector, the Vice\nPresident also believes that the industry plays a vital role in\nincreasing public literacy regarding the benefits of electric vehicles\nas part of the acceleration of the national energy transition. \u201cWe want\nthe industry to also contribute to the world of education. I believe\nthere will also be market education regarding awareness of the\nimportance of electric motorcycles and electric cars,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Gibran asserted that the development of electric\nvehicles not only provides environmental benefits but also serves as a\nstrategic step to strengthen national energy security by reducing\ndependence on fuel imports. \u201cIn addition to being more environmentally\nfriendly and other benefits, we must save on oil and fuel imports in the\nfuture.
