        "content": "<p>Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has promised to upgrade the\nstatus of RSUD Perpetua H. Safanpo in Asmat Regency, South Papua, to a\nType C hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Gibran stated that strengthening these healthcare services is part of\nthe implementation of President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s priority programme,\naimed at providing high-quality and equitable basic services even in\nfrontier, outermost, and least developed (3T) regions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI promise that there will be the development of a Type C hospital\nhere in Asmat, so we will also intervene in healthcare issues,\u201d said\nVice President Gibran during his visit to Agats District, Asmat Regency,\non Sunday (21\/6).<\/p>\n<p>During the visit, Gibran inspected the facilities at RSUD Perpetua H.\nSafanpo and engaged in dialogue with several patients.<\/p>\n<p>The Director of RSUD Perpetua H. Safanpo, Yenny Yokung Yong, noted\nthat the Vice President\u2019s visit to the hospital, which has been\ndeveloped incrementally since 2016, could accelerate the upgrade from\nType D to Type C.<\/p>\n<p>RSUD Perpetua H. Safanpo is one of the hospitals included in the\n\u2018Quick Wins\u2019 programme for the healthcare sector under the\nadministration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran\nRakabuming.<\/p>\n<p>Yenny also highlighted that the status upgrade should be accompanied\nby the addition of essential medical equipment, such as CT scans, to\nreduce the need to refer patients to other regions and ultimately lower\nreferral costs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause for our hospital, we bear the costs through special autonomy\n(Otsus) funds for patients who are Indigenous Papuans, specifically the\nAsmat people,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>These covered costs include medical assistance and facilities such as\ntransit houses at referral hospital locations in Jayapura, Merauke, and\nMakassar.<\/p>",
