Gibran expressed his sympathies through Instagram on Monday (2 March\n2026), stating: \u201cTo Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. I\nexpress my deepest condolences on the death of General (ret.) Try\nSutrisno, the sixth Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, on\nMonday (2 March 2026) following medical care at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto\nhospital.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Gibran, the nation has lost a leader who dedicated his\nlife to the country, serving as both a military officer and statesman.\nHe prayed that the deceased would receive the best place in the presence\nof Allah and that his family would be granted strength in their\ngrief.<\/p>\n
\u201cMay Allah accept all his acts of worship and service to the nation\nand state, forgive his shortcomings, and grant his family strength and\npatience, amen,\u201d Gibran said.<\/p>\n
Try Sutrisno died at age 90 at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto hospital in\nJakarta on Monday (2 March 2026) at 06:58 WIB. His family stated he had\nno specific underlying illness that caused his death.<\/p>\n
Taufik Dwi Cahyono, Try Sutrisno\u2019s son, explained that his father\u2019s\nhealth deteriorated due to advanced age. \u201cMy father\u2019s condition declined\nsimply because of his age; everything deteriorates at that age. There\nwas no specific serious illness\u2014rather, his respiratory capacity and\nother functions were declining due to old age,\u201d Taufik said at RSPAD\nGatot Soebroto on Monday.<\/p>\n
Taufik noted that RSPAD and presidential medical teams provided the\nbest possible treatment.
