Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is undertaking a working visit\nto East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Gorontalo, and Papua. The visit is part of\nthe government\u2019s effort to strengthen oversight and improve the\ngovernance of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme and the Merah\nPutih Village Cooperatives (KDMP).<\/p>\n
Gibran was not accompanied solely by his staff; he also invited\nseveral student representatives on the trip. Photographs shared by the\nVice Presidential Secretariat showed students in university blazers\nfollowing Gibran up the aircraft steps.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday we are accompanied by several student representatives. We will\ndepart for Ende, Gorontalo, and also Papua. The government is committed\nto continuously improving the governance of MBG and the cooperatives,\u201d\nGibran said at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta on\nThursday (17\/6), as quoted from a press release.<\/p>\n
He stated the move was a follow-up to various inputs from students\nregarding the implementation of the government\u2019s priority programmes.\nGibran expressed appreciation to the students for voicing their\naspirations peacefully and providing constructive feedback to refine the\nprogrammes.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to thank all fellow students across the country. Thank\nyou for conveying your aspirations peacefully. Thank you for your\nconstructive input, especially regarding MBG and the cooperatives,\u201d said\nthe son of the seventh Indonesian president, Joko Widodo.<\/p>\n
He said the government is committed to ensuring that every budget\nallocated for various priority programmes is utilised optimally and free\nfrom corrupt practices. \u201cWe will ensure every rupiah is properly\nutilised, and most importantly, free from corruption. I think these\nsteps are important to maintain public trust,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
