JAKARTA - Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Gibran
Rakabuming Raka stated that artificial intelligence (AI) technology or
artificial intelligence will not replace humans.

However, he said that humans who refuse to use AI will lose out.

“So AI will not replace humans, but humans who do not want to use AI,
well, those are the ones who will lose,” said Gibran at the Pondok
Tremas Islamic Boarding School on Jalan Tj. II, Tremas, Arjosari,
Pacitan, East Java, on Thursday (30/4/2026), quoted from a video by the
Presidential Secretariat.

Gibran emphasised that technology, AI, and robotics will not replace
humans because they are still created by humans.

“It (AI) also will not replace teachers. So everything here will only
support our productivity,” he said.

Furthermore, Gibran responded to the concerns of the students who
complained that many jobs are being replaced by robots.

In response to this, Gibran reiterated that operating AI still
requires humans.

“It still needs humans, right? That’s AI making prompts, the one
typing the prompts is still human,” he said.

In addition, Gibran mentioned that many new jobs have now emerged
thanks to technological advancements.

The eldest son of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko
Widodo (Jokowi) also encouraged the students to continue learning AI
technology, robotics, and coding.

Because that knowledge is considered important for honing critical
thinking, as well as computational thinking.

“Because it is very important in the future to face the challenges of
the times, an era that is all digital, all of this must be learned and
the students must not be left behind, yes,” advised Gibran.

On the same occasion, Gibran also asked the students not to be
influenced by news that may not necessarily be true.

“News with negative framing must be filtered. Do not be influenced by
what is on social media and I suggest once again, friends, stay focused
on productive activities,” he said.
",
